Award to be presented at Health Work & Wellness™ Conference 2010 in Vancouver, October 1

VANCOUVER: Zorianna Hyworon, the founder, President and CEO of InfoTech Inc., the Winnipeg-based creator of global health risk assessment software Wellness Checkpoint®, has been named the recipieZorianna Hyworon receives award from Kendy Bentley, Chair, 2010 Pioneer Award Selection Committeent of the Canadian Workplace Wellness Pioneer Award for 2010.

The award, presented annually since 1997 at the Health Work & Wellness™ Conference, recognizes an individual who has made a pioneering contribution to the field of organizational health.

Health Work & Wellness™ Conference President and founder, Deborah Connors, said today that Ms. Hyworon has made a major contribution to the development and implementation of healthy businesses in Canada and globally.

“Zorianna’s vision over 20 years ago of an online health risk assessment with the potential to engage an individual privately and respectfully became a reality with the launch of Wellness Checkpoint® in 1990. Its success is evidenced by the fact that it is now used by 55 of the Global Fortune 500 companies, in more than 85 countries in 17 languages. That’s a truly remarkable contribution to organizational wellness on a global scale and is thoroughly deserving of the Canadian Workplace Wellness Pioneer Award,” said Ms. Connors.

As President and CEO of InfoTech, Ms. Hyworon has supported multinational corporations, employers, health plans and health professionals in assessing risk, supporting change and evaluating opportunities for action.

Commenting on the announcement that she will receive this year’s Canadian Workplace Wellness Pioneer Award, Ms. Hyworon said, “I am honoured to receive this award and humbled to be in the company of its prestigious roster of past winners.
